Street Signs and Solar Ovens: Socialcraft in LA
Craft and Folk Art Museum, Los Angeles CA
October 20th to December 31st, 2006

In response to the environmental, political, and social questions of our time, this exhibition offers an insight into how Southern California individuals and communities creatively take action to defy the notion that a socially conscious lifestyle is out of reach. The resulting creations are expressions of both function and artistry that offer inspiration for proactive living.

Fine Print
PS1, New York
March 2006

On arrival into the presentation hall, attendees were forced to remove their chairs from a chair mountain directly at the hall's opening. We gave a concise historical slide lecture of how "we" have responded to America's wars since 1900.

We broke down audience members into small groups and worked with each group to design a page talking about how we should stop war. Each groups projects were compiled, photocopied and then distributed as a complete magazine at the end of the night.

Slide-show, lecture transcript, & magazine pdf available shortly.
